3 Eye Exercises to Help Relieve Tired Eyes

Staring at a computer or TV screen can cause a lot of stress on your eyes. This is one of the biggest causes of myopia, or near-sightedness. Fortunately, there are some eye exercises you can do yourself, without the aid of an eye doctor, which will help you relax your eye muscles.

Focus Shifting: For this exercise you will need only a simple pen or pencil. Hold it about one foot (or the length of your arm) in front of your face. Focus on the pen for about 10 seconds and then on another object far away for also 10 seconds. Do this as many times as you feel like it (minimum should be 10 times).  By doing this exercise, you will train your eye muscles to be better at reshaping your eyes. This is important when you are trying to focus on objects. Do the same exercise first with both eyes open, and then with one eye closed, alternating between the eyes.

Expand Your Vision: Look at the top corner of your left eye for approximately one full minute. Once done with that eye, cover it with your hand and do the same with the right one. Doing this exercise will allow you to extend the radius of your vision.

Palming: Cover your eyes with the palms of your hands and look into the darkness, focusing into the distance. Do this for about 10-15 minutes. This exercise is a great and simple way to relax your eyes between the first two.
